The Highland
Gentry
Since we do not belong to a clan in real life, we have not chosen a separate
name for the civilian portrayal, but by calling ourselves the Highland Gentry we simply indicate that we are depicting Scottish tribal nobility, a Dùine Uasal, or Highland Gentlemanl and his
Lady, in the middle of the 18th century.
.
We don´t just present
the clothing and weapons of the Scottish Highlands.
Rather, we endeavor to present an all-encompassing picture of the life of the Gaels of Scotland in the eighteenth century.
The friendly connection which was maintained for a long time between the noble family of Hesse-Kassel and some Scottish clans does reflect why we also travel with our civilian portrayal in
German countries.
